Laurie and her husband Walter have been married since 1989. They have two children, Andrew and Alicia, and they live in Mount Prospect, Illinois with their cat Snoopy.

Laurie enjoys reading, tennis, golfing and spending quality time with her family.

Laurie is very active at St. Viator High School, and she is also the Treasurer of the Patron Arts Club.

Laurie Leja is a former member of Up With People, a leader in providing lifetime experiences to young people, giving them opportunities for total cultural immersion, cultural awareness and global citizenship. As a trained classical singer, Laurie was able to contribute her talents to this active organization.
