Laurie and her husband, Walter, have two children, Andrew and Alicia. They live in Mount Prospect, Illinois, with their cat, Snoopy.

Laurie enjoys reading, tennis, golfing and spending quality time with her family. As an avid participator in physical fitness activities, Laurie has become a spokesperson for her local YMCA.

She also is a spokesperson for READ Educational Center, also known as Alternatives in Education for the Hearing Impaired, an organization that fosters literacy and empowers people with hearing loss to achieve their full potential through unique educational options. Laurie’s involvement is personal. That’s because her son, Andrew, is hearing-impaired and attends the Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School, where approximately 25 percent of the student population is deaf or hard of hearing. Not only is Laurie active with READ and Andrew’s school, but she takes time to speak with other parents of hearing-impaired children.

Because Andrew is doing so well at his school, Laurie can rest assured her first priority – her family – is in good hands, and can focus on helping her clients develop solutions that are right for their families.

Laurie Leja is a former member of Up With People, a leader in providing lifetime experiences to young people, giving them opportunities for total cultural immersion, cultural awareness and global citizenship. As a trained classical singer, Laurie was able to contribute her talents to this active organization.
